Leana Deriš Aarvold

Leana is a Seafood Analyst covering both the fisheries and aquaculture industry. She focuses on the groundfish and seabass/seabream segments at Kontali and is involved with other warmwater species. Before taking on this role, she worked as a consultant at Capgemini Norway and is certified in the PRINCE2 Foundation methodology, often used in processes of digital transformation, among other applications. Additionally, Leana spent more than four years in academia and research at the University of Oslo and the Institute for Oceanography and Fisheries in Split, Croatia. During this time, she worked with both Arctic and Mediterranean ecosystems, marine species, and utilized advanced statistical methods and models. In 2017, Leana was a chair-invited member of the ICES Working Group on comparative analyses between European Atlantic and Mediterranean Ecosystems, aiming to move towards an Ecosystem-based Approach to Fisheries (WGCOMEDA)
