Limited capacity growth in 2024

The newly appointed colour schemes for the 13 production areas indicates a net capacity growth of only 2% in 2024. However, under-utilisation of the current production capacity gives room for substantial growth in production in the coming years.

The government has specified the approved color schemes for the 13 distinct production areas dedicated to farming salmon and trout in Norway. The net growth is limited to just 2%, potentially resulting in an increase of approximately 21,000 tonnes. Moreover, this aligns precisely with our initial estimate for 2024.

The base case scenario models a conservative growth of 4-5% in H2 2024, driven by number of fish harvested and harvest weight envisaged unchanged. A more optimistic high-supply scenario could translate to double-digit growth.
